Stanley Schwartz practices in the areas of land use, zoning and planning, municipal, real estate, environmental, and water law. For fifteen years, Stanley was employed by the City of Spokane as an Assistant City Attorney, representing the City departments of engineering and construction services, capital programs, real estate, economic and community development, zoning and planning, environmental programs, waste water management, and transportation. His land use experience primarily focused on the development of significant public and private projects. During his tenure, he represented the City in numerous real estate transactions, land use matters, eminent domain actions, and environmental law issues.

Stanley acts as the City Attorney for the Cities of Cheney and Airway Heights and handled the legal work that led to the successful incorporations of the cities of Liberty Lake in 2001 and Spokane Valley in 2003. He also serves as General Counsel to the Spokane Public Facilities District and Columbia Rural Electric Cooperative. Specific areas of expertise include State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Shoreline Management Act (SMA), Growth Management Act (GMA), plats and subdivisions, water code, the Model Toxic Control Act (MTCA), general corporate law and laws related to state and local government.
